Prominent Sivasagar Resident Lakheswar Baruah Passes Away at 76

Lakheswar Baruah, a prominent resident of the historic Kathpar area in Sivasagar and a retired Defence employee, passed away at his residence on January 12.

SIVASAGAR: Lakheswar Baruah, a prominent resident of the historic Kathpar area in Sivasagar and a retired Defence employee, passed away at his residence on January 12. He was 76 years old at the time of his demise.

Baruah had been suffering from age-related ailments for an extended period. He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter-in-law, two daughters, grandchildren, and other relatives. Known for his pious and amiable nature, his death has cast a pall of gloom over the Kathpar and Kukurapohia areas.

Several organizations, including the Sivasagar District Students’ Union, Ujoni Axom Muslim Kalyan Parishad, Brihattar Asomiya Yuva Mancha, Shri Shri Nrityananda Dev Than Management Committee, Kathpar Sunrise Club, Kathpar Masjid Management Committee, and Kukurapohia Masjid Management Committee, No.1 Banmukh Primary Siksha Kendra, among others, have expressed their grief over his passing. They extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
