KOKRAJHAR: In a noble initiative to remember the contributions of great artist and Lalit Kala Akademi Award winner late Maneswar Brahma, the Chief Executive Member of BTC Pramod Boro has announced that the main entrance gate in the Raimana National Park in Kokrajhar would be named after Brahma.
Boro announced this decision during the last public ritual of late Maneswar Brahma, held recently at Bijni in Chirang district. Boro paid his humble tributes to late Maneswar Brahma, a noted artist, printmaker, and winner of the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Award on the occasion of his last ritual.
Talking to media persons, CEM Boro made the announcement. Maneswar Brahma’s art reflected the essence of life in BTR from the travails of violence to the dawn of peace, and his legacy remains immortal in their hearts.
He also released the souvenir “Mohorgiri Maneswar Brahma” and joined eminent artists and literary luminaries in reflecting upon the life and art of Maneswar Brahma, in remembrance of his unparalleled contributions to BTR’s culture. He said that the main entrance gate of the Raimona National Park, Kokrajhar, designed by Brahma, is currently under construction and thus the name of this entrance gate would be given in his name as a mark of honour and tribute to his legacy.
