Sanjal Kutir celebrates 7th anniversary with musical extravaganza in Numaligarh

Sanjal Kutir, a cultural hub in Numaligarh, celebrated its 7th anniversary with a mesmerizing musical evening titled ‘Samayor Shilalipit Jibonor Gaan’ (Time’s Inscription on Life’s Song).

NUMALIGARH: Sanjal Kutir, a cultural hub in Numaligarh, celebrated its 7th anniversary with a mesmerizing musical evening titled ‘Samayor Shilalipit Jibonor Gaan’ (Time’s Inscription on Life’s Song) on Thursday. The event, attended by over 500 music enthusiasts, featured a soul-stirring performance by renowned folk artist Nareswar Bosumatary and his team, who presented a beautiful Bagurumba performance.

Five young talents, Tinku Saikia, Sobhit Kamal Bora, Abhinav Kashyap, Rani Dutta, and Abhinash Kishor Saikia, were awarded the ‘Anuprerona Award-2025’ for their outstanding contributions to art and culture. Manjit Rai and journalist Aboyob Bhunya were also specially felicitated for their contributions.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including MLA Biswajit Phukan, NRL’s General Manager Mintu Handique, DR College’s Dean Dr Devajit Phukan, author Jiten Kumar Hazarika, Arnab Saikia, senior journalist Hemanta Saikia, Pradip kr Bora, litterateur Titaram Das, and Monalisha Saikia.

The evening concluded with a captivating flute performance by Ishan Kashyap, which left the audience spellbound. Sanjal Kutir, founded by Priyangdeep Kakoti, aims to promote art, literature, and culture in the region. Kakoti has played a significant role in organizing various cultural programmes, providing a platform for local artistes to showcase their talents.
