NAGAON: The recovery of a healthcare worker triggered tension in the region. The incident took place on Saturday when one Mina Dutta was recovered in an unconscious state.

Mina Dutta, an Accredited Social Health Activist was found in an unconscious state on the side of a road in Nagaon on Saturday. She is a resident of the Hatibondha locality of Koliyabor in Assam.

According to reports, she had accompanied patients to Nagaon on Friday and was missing since then. Hainbargaon Police recovered the medical worker in an unconscious condition and admitted her to a hospital on Saturday. She was undergoing the necessary treatment in a private hospital in the town.

Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) members form an integral part of the healthcare sector of the country. These people usually travel to the villages and endure that the benefits of the government schemes reach the grassroots level of the country.

Speculations are that the ASHA worker was drugged by someone and when she was unconscious, the miscreants looted all her valuables. The latest reports suggest that she was still under medical supervision. More details regarding her condition will be revealed only when she regains consciousness and talks to the authorities.
