Morigaon: The Morigaon District Inter Agency Group jointly organized a general meeting of voluntary organizations in Morigaon on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by District Inter-Agency Group Chairman Mahendra Saikia at the office of Morigaon Zila Gramya Puthibharal Santha in collaboration with Morigaon District Disaster Management Authority. The meeting was attended by District Commissioner of Morigaon Anamika Tewari as the chief guest. The meeting was attended by the president of the All Assam Gramya Puthi Bharal Santha Pratap Hazarika who highlighted the problems of floods and landslides in Morigaon district and urged the District Commissioner to provide special training to the workers of NGOs to assist in the management of these natural disasters. The meeting was chaired by District Inter-Agency Group Secretary Balladev Nath. Additional District Commissioner of Morigaon Anusuya Sharma, Morigaon Zila Gramya Puthibharal Santha’s President Ramesh Chandra Kakati, farmer leader Tulsi Deka were present in the event . He said that solutions to various problems including natural disasters can be easily found by bringing together the NGOs.
