Dhubri: Dhubri Mera Yuva Bharat, in collaboration with the Advance Education and Development Foundation, organized a workshop on flagship programmes on the theme of tailoring at Gaspara in Dhubri district on Wednesday. The programme was organized under the guidance of District Youth Officer of Dhubri Mera Yuva Bharat, Sri Himanshu Kumar.

These workshops aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to design, create, and alter garments for a perfect fit.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting a candle lamp and garlanding the statue of Swami Vivekananda by the dignitaries. The chief guest and guest of honour of the programme were Anowar Hussain, GP Secretary of Gaspara GP, Ambiya Khatun, GP President of Gaspara GP, and other members.

In the inaugural speech, the chief guest highlighted the importance of organizing such programmes among rural youths. He explained that workshops like these can be valuable for individuals interested in pursuing tailoring as a profession. He added that the workshops could also be beneficial for those who want to learn basic clothing stitching and alteration skills. The skills learnt in a ‘tailoring workshop’ can be applied to a wide range of sewing projects, from simple alterations to more complex garment production.

Resource person Akhlima Khatun in her deliberation said that in these kinds of workshops, participants acquire valuable skills applicable to personal projects, alterations, and potentially even professional opportunities in the fashion designing industry. The programme was attended by more than 100 participants from different areas of the district.
