Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh To Participate In Maha Kumbh Mela At Triveni Sangam

The Chief Minister is scheduled to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, on Thursday.

IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh arrived in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday in anticipation of the Maha Kumbh Mela, a significant religious event that occurs once every 144 years. The Chief Minister is scheduled to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, on Thursday.

In a post on the social media platform X, Singh expressed gratitude for being part of the auspicious occasion and said, "Blessed to be in Prayagraj for the auspicious Maha Kumbh Mela." He intends to join his cabinet colleagues and local MLAs in prayer and seek blessings for peace, harmony, and prosperity for the people of Manipur and the nation as a whole.

The Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13 and will last until February 26. So far, millions of devotees have thronged to the event, and more than 3.748 million took a holy dip on Wednesday. The count of bathers reached over 382 million on February 4, thus showing that this event carries tremendous spiritual and cultural importance.

Other eminent personalities who attended the rituals here are Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. It is expected that the attendance of Maha Kumbh Mela will escalate during the forthcoming weeks.
