IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has taken pride in successfully working the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime that has been completed for five years now.

On his social media page, X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister saluted the dedication and hard work of officers and officials who have played great roles in the managing and enforcement of the system.

Certificates of Commendation have been distributed at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today to officials of the Home Department, Imphal West Police and Deputy Commissioner's office. Such awards have already been made for officials from other districts at Republic Day ceremonies.

I appreciate the contributions of all the officials who have played pivotal roles in the implementation, monitoring, and management of the ILP system," said CM Singh, while underlining the importance of their work.

The ILP system, which controls the entry of outsiders into Manipur, has been a vital mechanism for preserving the indigenous identity, culture, and resources of the state. Introduced to safeguard the interests of the local population, its successful execution has been a milestone in the governance of Manipur.

The recognition of officials for their dedication shows the government's concern for the further efficiency of the ILP system. Moving forward, the state administration stays focused on developing the framework in such a manner that the system will serve the purpose it is supposed to.
