AIZAWL, Sept 5: Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted awareness lecture on 'Say No to Plastic' at Zokhawthar village on Monday. The aim of the lecture was to increase public understanding and shape community perceptions on the dangers of plastic pollution and available solutions, thereby empowering more people and organizations to take corrective actions. The lecture stressed involvement of each and every individual as a team to eliminate single-use plastic from daily lifestyle for achieving a plastic-free society. Villagers were appealed to use alternatives like cloth and paper bag instead of using plastic bags, stated a press release.
