GUWAHATI: City Cricket Club registered an emphatic 195-run victory over Legends Sporting Club in the opening match of the 7th Assam Premier Club Championship (Guwahati leg) held at Icon Cricket Ground, Jagiroad on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, City Cricket Club posted an impressive total of 272 for 7 in their allotted 40 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant knock from Hiyan Kashyap, who scored 95 runs off 101 balls, hitting nine boundaries. Valuable contributions came from Sanjib Barman (37) and Rohan Hazarika (49).
In response, Legends Sporting Club crumbled under the pressure, managing only 77 runs in 27.2 overs. Parthib Kashyap Sarma was the lone batter to put up some resistance, scoring 22 runs. The bowling attack of City Cricket Club was led by Vedant Pandey, who took 4 wickets for 11 runs, and Pankaj Khadal, who picked up 3 wickets for 20 runs.
