Kolkata’s Anushilanee defeat Inter North East Football Club reach semis of Independence Day Cup Football Tournament

Anushilanee, Kolkata, defeated Inter North East Football Club, Morigaon, 3-0 to enter the semifinals of the 76th Independence Day Cup Football Tournament, organized by the Nagaon Sports Association.

NAGAON: Anushilanee, Kolkata, defeated Inter North East Football Club, Morigaon, 3-0 to enter the semifinals of the 76th Independence Day Cup Football Tournament, organized by the Nagaon Sports Association. The last quarterfinal, played at the Nurul Amin Stadium, saw both teams create scoring opportunities in the first half, but the score remained 0-0 till the halftime. After the break, Anushilanee dominated the game, scoring four goals through Indrajit Mondal (63rd minute), Jyoti Barman (65th minute), and Narayan Roy (80th minute).

Anushilanee will face Oil India Football Club tomorrow.

Before the match, Tapan Kumar Das, secretary of the Nagaon Sports Association, introduced guests duos Ram Chiari Saikia, former president of the Guwahati High Court Bar Association, and former footballer Rup Ram Bhuyan to the players of both teams and match referee here.
