GUWAHATI: OILFC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over DBISC in the Guwahati Premier League Football at Judges Field today. In another fixture, Assam Police and Red Bees Inc shared points after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
The clash between OILFC and DBISC was tightly contested, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. It looked like the game was going to end in a goalless draw until in-form Janminlun Kuki delivered a dramatic winning goal in the second minute of added time, securing three vital points for OILFC.
The win helped OILFC to stay at the top of the points table in cluster A with 12 points from 4 matches. DBISC, defending champion, are in fourth place with 4 points from three games.
In the day’s second match, Assam Police struck early, with November Basumatary converting a penalty in the second minute. Mithinga Daimary added another for the team 18 minutes later. However, Red Bees Inc fought back, with Krishna Thoudam equalizing in the 9th minute and L Kishan Singh securing the equalizer second time in the match in the 80th minute.
