Ramanuj Talukdar, Nabiha Moriyam, and Dhyanaa Morang Claim Double Crowns at 8th Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship

Ramanuj Talukdar, Nabiha Moriyam, and Dhyanaa Morang secured double crowns in the 8th Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship, which concluded today at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.

GUWAHATI: Ramanuj Talukdar, Nabiha Moriyam, and Dhyanaa Morang secured double crowns in the 8th Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship, which concluded today at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.

Ramanuj Talukdar won the Boys’ Singles Under-18 title, defeating Chandrasekhar Mohanty 6-3, 6-2 in the final. He also partnered with Abhiraj Kumar Dutta to clinch the Boys’ Doubles Under-18 title, beating Aarush Das and Enrich Pator 6-3, 6-4.

In the Girls’ Singles Under-18 category, Nabiha Moriyam claimed the title by defeating Kabyanjali Hazarika 6-1, 6-0 in the final. She then teamed up with Nayeem Hussain to win the Girls’ Doubles Under-18 title, overcoming Kabyanjali Hazarika and Soni Prajapati 6-1, 6-1 in the title clash.

Dhyanaa Morang triumphed in the Girls’ Singles Under-12 final, edging past Mrigakshi Changmai 5-7, 7-5, 10-7. She also clinched the Girls’ Singles Under-14 title, defeating Abhipsa Gogoi 6-4, 6-2.

In the Boys’ Singles Under-14 final, Enrich Pator emerged victorious against Chandrasekhar Mohanty with a score of 6-4, 0-6, 10-6. Ayaan Rehman won the Boys’ Singles Under-12 title, defeating Anirban Deka 7-5, 4-6, 10-7. Meanwhile, in the Boys’ and Girls’ Combined Singles Under-10 category, Dhaniska Mahanta was crowned champion after a hard-fought 2-4, 5-4, 14-12 victory over Dhanush Mahanta.

The closing ceremony was graced by Pradeep Timung, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam, as the Chief Guest. Former state tennis champion Jhoola Sarma, senior sportspersons Shankar Datta Lahkar, Shyamanga Rajkhowa, and Dipak Kumar Das attended as Guests of Honour. The event also saw the presence of Guwahati Tennis Association President Kalyan Kumar Das.
