MANGALDAI: Drishna JR Chanda, the 11-year-old ‘Wonder Yoga Girl’ from Mangaldai, has taken the Asian Yoga world by storm! Representing India at the 10th Asian Yoga Sports Championship in Singapore, Drishna returned home with a dazzling haul of medals - two gold, one silver, and one bronze.
This petite powerhouse bagged gold medals in Traditional Yogasana (11-14 years age group Girls) and the Free Flow event, showcasing her incredible flexibility, balance, and poise. She also clinched a silver medal in the Artistic Solo event and a bronze medal in the Artistic Pair event.
Drishna’s remarkable achievement has earned her widespread accolades. Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia, legislator Basanta Das, District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakaty, and the Mangaldai Media Circle have all congratulated her on her brilliant success.
This talented young Yogi will soon represent Assam at the 68th National School Games in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, from January 15 to 18.
A class VI student of Gurukul Group of Educational Wing, Mangaldai, Drishna is the second daughter of Head Teacher Runumipriya Devi and businessman Jayanta Kumar Chanda.
Another budding Yoga talent from Nagaon, Udita Rani Bora, also made a mark at the championship, winning gold, silver, and bronze medals in various events.
