Guwahati: In a deeply emotional and visually striking tribute, a local sand artist from Dhekiajuli brought the late Zubeen Garg to life once again sculpting his portrait on the banks of the Gabharu  River using only sand and devotion.

The sculpture, created by a  Baluka (sand) artist captures Zubeen Garg’s iconic face and presence with stunning detail, evoking both admiration and tears from onlookers. The artwork quickly became a local pilgrimage spot, drawing hundreds of fans who lit candles, sang his songs, and offered floral tributes.

“Zubeen da is not gone, he lives in our hearts and our soil,” said the artist, who completed the piece in under 12 hours using only natural materials from the riverbank.
