Guwahati:  In a major development in the investigation into the mysterious death of Assam’s iconic singer Zubeen Garg, his wife Garima Garg and sister Palme Borthakur appeared at the CID office in Guwahati on Friday.

Both were called out for questioning as part of the ongoing inquiry being conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Assam Police. The team, led by Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta, is examining every possible angle to determine the circumstances that led to the singer’s untimely death.

Sources said the statements of close family members are crucial for establishing a clear sequence of events leading up to Zubeen Garg’s passing. The SIR recently returned from Singapore after collecting key evidence and medical documents related to the case.

Officials stated that the investigation is progressing steadily and that all necessary procedures are being followed to ensure a transparent and thorough probe.
