New Delhi: Shocking CCTV footage has emerged, capturing the precise moment a car exploded near Delhi’s historic Red Fort on Tuesday evening. The blast, which killed at least 12 people and left several others injured, is being investigated as a possible ‘Fidayeen’ (suicide) attack, according to initial reports from the Delhi Police.

The powerful explosion occurred close to one of the main entry points of the Red Fort, sending shockwaves across the area and triggering panic among locals and tourists. Within minutes, emergency teams, including fire and forensic units, reached the site to douse the flames and rescue the injured.

Preliminary findings indicate that the car used in the explosion was laden with high-intensity explosives. Investigators believe the attack was meticulously planned, aiming to cause maximum casualties and damage near one of India’s most iconic landmarks. Sources told ANI that traces of military-grade materials have been recovered from the site.

Following the incident, the entire area around the Red Fort has been cordoned off, and security has been placed on high alert across Delhi. Multiple investigative agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB), have joined the probe to determine the perpetrators and their possible links to terror organisations.

Senior police officials have urged the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act meant to spread fear,” and assured that those responsible will be brought to justice swiftly.

The investigation remains ongoing as Delhi mourns yet another tragic blow to its peace and security.
