TANGLA: All roads led to the 64th annual session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, the largest literary and cultural body of the Bodo community, which concluded on Sunday at Daimu Nagar in Dimakuchi of Udalguri, which turned into a sea of humanity as people from various communities and regions gathered at the venue. The open session on the final day was inaugurated by Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, which was presided over by President of BSS Dr. Surath Narzary and which was attended by key dignitaries including Assam Cabinet Ministers Pijush Hazarika, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and Ashok Singhal, along with BTC CEM Pramod Boro, BTC Deputy CEM Gobinda Basumatary, and several executive members of BTC. Speaking at the open session, BTC CEM Pramod Boro praised the local community for their efforts in organizing the event and reaffirmed his commitment to the promotion of the Bodo language. The session featured cultural performances, including traditional Bodo dances like Kherai, Bagurumba, and Bardwisikhla, as well as performances from Bhutanese and local communities. The venue buzzed with energy, creating a festive atmosphere. Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika, addressing the gathering, emphasized the role of language and literature in ensuring the survival of a community. He called upon citizens to uphold peace, harmony, and cultural unity to drive the state toward progress. He also praised the state government’s ongoing development efforts for the BTR and the Bodo community. In the evening, Bollywood singer Monali Thakur and other local artists will enthral the audience with their performance.
