Assam: One killed in elephant attack in Golaghat district

BOKAKHAT: A tragic incident occurred on Friday night in Morangi Mouza under the Bakiyal range of the Forest Department in Golaghat district, resulting in the death of 65-year-old Binod Majhi. Majhi, a resident of Gidi Basti. He was trampled to death by a wild elephant.

For several days, wild elephants have been venturing into populated areas from the forests in search of food, causing destruction in various parts of Morangi and Numaligarh. Driven by hunger, these elephants have been roaming through villages, tea gardens, and fields, leading to frequent tragic incidents.
