Assam: Samvidhan Divas observed in Sonitpur district

Sonitpur district celebrated 75 years of the Constitution's adoption with a ceremonial Preamble reading at the District Commissioner's Office.

Tezpur: As the nation marks 75 years of adopting the Constitution on Tuesday, the Sonitpur district administration observed the occasion with a ceremonial reading of the Preamble to the Constitution at the premises of the District Commissioner’s Office. Leading the celebrations, District Commissioner Ankur Bharali, extended his greetings to all present on this momentous occasion.

In his address, the District Commissioner highlighted the significance of the day, stating how on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950, ushering in a new era in the history of India. This day, celebrated as Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas, holds immense significance as it marks the enactment of the world’s longest written Constitution, symbolizing the triumph of democracy.
