SIVASAGAR: A public tribute and memorial meeting was held today in Amolapatty, Sivasagar, in remembrance of the late distinguished educationist and social worker Shashilal Baruah, coinciding with his Adyashraddha.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lighting of lamps and floral tributes by social workers Jyotiprasad Dutta and Ratnamoni Sharma. Advocate Mayuri Baruah explained the purpose of the meeting, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Professor Prabin Sharma of Sivasagar Girls’ College emphasized that Shashilal Baruah was a dedicated educationist with high ideals, and his contributions to education, society, and culture were invaluable. He expressed hope that the younger generation would draw inspiration from his life and work.
Several eminent personalities, including senior journalist Pranjal Rajguru, Rana Kakoti, Bipul Bora, Nripen Saikia, Trishna Kakoti, Pallab Rajguru, Arupa Baruah, Rina Saikia, Mohan Chutia, and Suren Dutta, shared their memories and paid tribute to the late educationist, recalling his significant contributions to the community.
