Proposed hospital turns into cowshed!

From our Correspondent
Bongaigaon, Nov 14: A proposed hospital building has now turned into a cowshed, all thanks to the alleged negligence of the department concerned. This is the poor condition of the 30-bedded government hospital at Basugaon area of Chirang district. Jayanta Sen, a local resident, said that the foundation stone of this hospital was laid in the year of 2013 by Chandan Brahma, State Transport Minister at that time. “The construction of the building has been completed. But yet, the building has not been used. It has also not been inaugurated as yet. Nowadays, it has turned into a cowshed where people keep their cows sometime.  Some youths also come to drink liquor. The building is slowly getting damaged and the hospital if not started soon, the building will get damaged one day,” he said.
“This was the dream project of the people of Basugaon. After a long time, construction of the hospital had started. But we do not understand why it has not been inaugurated yet. If there is any problem in inaugurating this hospital, then why has the building been constructed by spending crores of rupees? We demand immediate inauguration of this hospital and providing all facilities so that people of this area can benefit out of this hospital,” local people said.
