'Badshah of Bollywood', Shahrukh Khan turns 55, wishes pour in

Mumbai: Birthday wishes from fans and Bollywood colleagues have been pouring in for the 'King of Bollywood' Shah Rukh Khan who turned 55 on Monday. A man filled with passion and energy, he has ruled the hearts of many from across the globe. He is the epitome of romance in Bollywood and is loved for his portrayal of the quintessential romantic hero in many movies.

Innumerable fans and co-stars sent in their wishes on social platforms Twitter and Instagram on his birthday.

Shahrukh Khan was born in 2nd November 1965. He started his career in the Indian television serial 'Fauji' as a young cadet. The serial become a mega hit and he was noticed. He then portrayed in various other serials and impressed audience with his boyish charm.

His debut movie was Deewana, where he was cast alongside DIvya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor. The film went on to become a box office success and launched his career in Bollywood. He also earned the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his role in the movie. Thereafter, he gave many hits like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Dil Ashna Hai, Yess Boss where he played passionate lover. He also equally portrayed the anti-hero role in films like Darr and Baagizar and earned much accolades for his roles, both good and bad.

Shahrukh Khan also belted out leading hits like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which is one of the most iconic romantic movies till date. Other romance based movies by Shahrukh Khan include Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbattein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, where he played the romantic hero and stood at par with iconic romantic heroes like Rajesh Khanna. He would transform any and every character to excellence and dream like reality and enthrall audiences totally. Apart from the romantic genre, Shahrukh Khan also explored other offbeat and realistic roles in movies like Swades, Chak De India and My Name is Khan.

Shahrukh also turned a producer to movies like Asoka and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. He and his wife, Gauri Khan owns one of the leading and profitable production houses of India- Red Chillies. Shahrukh Khan also took up his love of sports beyond by investing in for the major stake in the team Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.
