NEW DELHI: South Indian popular actor Dhanush and his filmmaker wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth decided to get separated after long 18 years of togetherness as a married couple.
On Monday 17 January, South star Dhanush and wife Aishwaryaa both took to social media to announce their separation and shared the news with everyone though the couple has not yet revealed the reason for getting divorced.
Dhanush, 38, in his tweet wrote that he and Aishwaryaa shared 18 years of togetherness as a couple, parents, friends and well-wishers to each other. He said that their journey has been of adjusting, growth, adapting and understanding. But at present, the couple stands on separate paths.
At last, he wrote that he and Aishwaryaa have taken the important decision of parting their ways as a couple and will take time to understand themselves as an individual for better well-being.
He asked fans to respect the decision and provide them with the required privacy in dealing with the situation.
Aishwaryaa, 40, also wrote the same lines on her Instagram profile informing fans about her separation with Dhanush. She wrote a caption along with the post that reads no caption is needed but only love and understanding is what is needed.
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had known each other for a long and they became husband and wife on 18 November 2004. They had two children named Linga and Yatra. Their first child Yatra was born in the year 2006 and after 3 years in 2010, they had another son Linga.
Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth the daughter of megastar Rajinikanth is a notable film writer and director who directed many Tamil popular films such as the black comedy heist in 2015 titled Vai Raja Vai and romantic drama in 2012 titled thriller 3.
Dhanush known originally as Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja has been serving the Tamil film industry for a long time and has a huge contribution. He is not just an actor but also known as a writer, dancer, producer, lyricist, director and playback singer.
Dhanush was last seen in Bollywood romantic drama 'Atrangi Re' directed by Aanand L.Raj. Dhanush in the film acted in Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles.
