Union Home Minister Amit Shah turned 56 on Thursday, October 22.

Born in 1964 in Mumbai, Shah has garnered decades of political experience. He is often referred to as the 'Chanakya' of modern-day politics.

In his birthday wishes to Shah, one of his closest aides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the nation is witnessing the dedication and excellence with which he is contributing towards India's progress.

Shah is a first-time Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar and was inducted into the cabinet during the second tenure of Modi government.

Along with PM Modi, many leaders from North East lauded his dedication and extended greetings on his 56th birth anniversary.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal extended his greetings on Amit Shah's 56th birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Assam finance and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma appreciated Amit Shah for his 'principled politics' and 'extraordinary abilities' to make decisions for India's progress and wished him on his 56th birth anniversary.

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu praised for his 'hardworking personality' and wished him on his birthday.
