New Delhi: Considered as one of the greatest captains of Indian Cricket Team, Kapil Dev is hospitalised after suffering a massive heart attack on Friday. The World Cup-winning captain of the country, Kapil Dev is currently out of danger. He is in a stable condition now and expected to be discharged in a couple of days.
The 62-years-old cricketer was rushed to Fortis Escort Hospital in Delhi following the heart attack. He was admitted around 1 am on October 23. Dr Atul Mathur, Director of Cardiology Department, performed an emergency coronary Angioplasty on Kapil Dev, who is now admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and under the close supervision of Dr Atul Mathur and his team.
A statement from Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi said, "Former Indian Cricket captain Mr Kapil Dev, Age 62 years, came to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on 23rd October with a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary Angioplasty was performed by Dr. Atul Mathur, Director of Cardiology Department, in the middle of night," read a statement from Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi."
One of the best all-rounders to have played the game, Kapil Dev has given everything he could to India's world of cricket. As his news of being hospitalised is out, his well-wishers took to Twitter to wish him a speedy recovery.
