The CBSE board's 10th Board exams were conducted in March 2020. But, exams for a few papers for class 10 were rescheduled only in NorthEast Delhi amid the violence the swept through the region amid the protests over the CAA/NRC. However, later all exams were canceled following the spike in COVID-19 cases. Several states -- badly-hit by the virus -- refused to conduct the exams citing health concerns and concern from parents.

The students of northeast Delhi who could not complete the CBSE 10th exam will be evaluated on the basis of the new assessment scheme -- the average of the best three performances will be considered. This will be applicable to students appearing in more than three papers. For those appearing in three papers, the average of the best two performances will be taken into account. This scheme has been beneficial for the students as the overall pass percentage has improved.

Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has wished good luck to the students before the declaration of the CBSE Board Class 10th Result 2020. "My dear Children, Parents, and Teachers, the results of class X CBSE board examinations will be announced tomorrow. I wish all the students best of luck", Mr. Pokhriyal wrote in a tweet.

The CBSE Board had declared the results for class 12 on Monday, July 13 without any prior declaration.
